BrighthelmStories begins (#1)
Reading local news from Brighton and surrounding areas is my guilty pleasure. I’ve been playing around with the idea of sharing all my findings with my friends in a newsletter format, rather than spamming group chats on a regular basis.
So let’s try this. When I read something interesting, funny or weird, I’m going to take a note of it and I will send it with the next newsletter. Maybe weekly, maybe monthly, maybe just when I find some time. I’ll try to keep it short. Perhaps you’ll find some of this interesting or amusing.

The Brighton Hippodrome will be revamped (article from Brightonian), and they even got a drinks licence already. First things first.
As reported in January the British Airways sponsorship of the i360 ends in November. Unsurprisingly, no one else is interested in being the next sponsor. Classic Hanover drama alert: residents complained for a long time about cars “rat running” in the tiny hilly streets of their beloved area, council gathered data, came up with a Low Traffic Neighborhood (LTN) proposal to make it inconvenient to rat run and push the cars towards the main streets only. Now the residents of the main streets are loudly protesting against the proposal.
